Don’t be a hard boiled egg!

Egg chair from the 1960s upholstered with leather.

Nordic furnitures from the 20th century adorn many Swedish homes. One of the highly sought-after classics is ”The Egg” (Agget) by the Dane Arne Jacobsen (1902-71). He originally designed the chair for the lobby areas of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.

The organically shaped chair has since become synonymous with Scandinavian furniture design throughout the world. Because of the unique shape, the Egg guarantees a bit of privacy in otherwise public spaces. The chair is still in production with prices ranging from $6,000. Better start saving!
